Authentic Expression
We crafted a design system and sub-identity for Adobe’s creative strategy, rooted in the Revival of Authentic Expression. In a world obsessed with digital perfection, today’s emerging creatives are shifting the narrative and embracing the beauty of imperfection. Our system leans into unfiltered emotion and a rebellious spirit, rejecting the polished veneer in favor of authenticity, individuality, and expressive mess.
Perfectly Imperfect
This design system champions imperfection, creating a look and feel that is unapologetically raw and real. It intentionally breaks from Adobe’s traditional business aesthetic, forging a new path for next-gen professionals. The system leads a movement that celebrates imperfection as the truest form of creative expression. Bold foil balloons, unconventional fonts, stickers, and emojis are woven together with foundational RED branding to create a playful, authentic visual theme. Objects and people are depicted in candid, imperfect moments, adorned with playful stickers and emojis to capture the energy of authentic expression.
Templates, Templates, and More Templates
An extensive library of design templates was developed, each paired with Adobe Express layouts. This empowers teams to generate assets for future events, from custom stickers for new cities to variations for posts and advertisements, all while maintaining a deliberately imperfect aesthetic.
Web and Events
The core design system equips the Adobe Creative Cafe team to quickly launch new event pages, complete with systems for managing speakers and city-specific content.
Imperfect Balloons
I captured and produced hundreds of unique mylar balloon images that are now integral to the design system. These visuals, along with custom stickers and graphic elements, inject authentic expression into social and event collateral.
Speaker and Portfolio Reviews
I had the privilege of joining the San Diego Creative Cafe as a guest panel speaker and portfolio reviewer, connecting with local artists, agency leaders, and the next wave of talented students at the University.
